INDUCTION iS COMING!!!
Plan on attending: Thursday, April 12, 2007 at the Plains Community
Center. Members pay only $5 to attend the ceremony, and guests are only
$10 each. This is the Social Event of the Year, so plan on being there to
welcome our new members.
Plan on helping out: Contact Kathryn or come to next week's meeting
to help get the invitations out. This is our group project for the
term. Please help make this
a successful induction. Thank you!
Second Annual Gamma Beta Phi Book Drive was a great success!!! We raised enough money to give out over 3000 books to area school children. Let's do even better this year!!! We want to start fundraising this Spring for the next book drive. Email Gloria to help.

Include your name and your top three choices for committee service. We
will be assigning committees at our next executive meeting, so don't delay!

Service Projects: Vouchers for submission to the executive committee now available here. Make sure you submit vouchers for ALL service projects!
Americus Food Pantry - Check the listserv -- please come and help! Also, bring FOOD or PLASTIC BAGS by Dr. Peavy's Office along with a service voucher (see above). Five (5) cans = 1 Point; 15 Plastic Bags = 1 Point.
Smithville Neighborhood Freedom Center is looking for tutors for its after school program and/or volunteers to teach basic night classes. For more information on how you can help, contact Elizabeth Dede at 229-846-6900 or email her at smithvillecenter@bellsouth.net .
We are also collecting some items for various charities: 1) Soda Can Tabs, 1 Zip-Lock bag full = 1 point; 2) Campbell Soup labels/box tops, 5 labels = 1 point.
Humane Society is asking us to help in their "Pennies for Pets" project. Bring pennies to the meetings and help the pets!
LEAP is asking for volunteers. Minimum of 30 minutes a week required. Contact Gloria (see link above) for more information.
