ATWS' NEW UN REPRESENTATIVE IS
DR. Lauren Eastwood
In August 1995, ATWS won "Consultative Status" as a
non-governmental organization (NGO) to the Economic and Social Council of the United
Nations (ECOSOC). NGOs which have been granted Consultative Status may sit as observers at
public meetings of ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies and commissions, and submit written
statements, or proposals, relevant to the work of ECOSOC. They can also make oral
statements in the Council's commissions and its subsidiary bodies.
Dr. Lauren Eastwood, teaches in the Department of
Sociology & Criminal Justice at the State University of New York - Plattsburgh. Members interested in submitting policy proposals to
